A few months ago, I found a full album of MIDIs on a floppy disk. I wrote these songs in 2004 and completely forgot about them, when I got my first DAW. Now I turned these gems into full production. An album full of dream house and dream dance nostalgia from the 1990s. I found a floppy disc with a full album I could not believe my eyes and ears, when I found a floppy disk with an album full of songs from 2004. It has been a bit of an adventure to borrow a floppy disk drive and load all these projects into my music software. 9 of 12 MIDI files were fully arranged songs that only lacked of proper instrumentation and production. The other songs were loops that went nowhere, but this is fine for me. If you ever wondered how it all started – here is a screenshot from Anvil Studio, a free MIDI software, similar to the one I used to create music. My Facebook community encouraged me to give my fully disk album a second chance and fully produce them, though I told myself to step away from electronic dance music as I do not identify with it for many years already. Producing these songs were a tough journey through my early teenage years, where I listened to dream house and trance music all day. These melodies are simple and catchy, and far away from the complex and dark music I write today. It has been worth the ride, because my discography feels complete. Also, I am very happy with the result. The meaning behind the cover and title At first, I considered the original floppy disk to be the cover of the album, but I did not enjoy the association with 8bit music. So I decided to take a shoot from the airport, where my musical journey started. The title “Nightflight” is a nod to one of my favourite songs that I listened on my first flight, and that inspired me to start with music. Can you guess the song? My floppy disc album Nightflight is available now “Nightflight” is now available on all streaming platforms. YouTube will join later. I highly encourage you to support the album on Bandcamp, because that’s where indie artists receive 85% of the revenue and not some lousy 0.003 cents per listen. Tomorrow night, I will host a Bandcamp listening party. Hope to see you there!

Since November, I have been working on a very special album. I rescued a floppy disk from the year 2004 with a dozen MIDI files on it. And one of them is song “Nocturnal” that releases today. My social media followers have been victims of how I found a long-lost floppy disk from the year 2004. After carefully analysing its contents, I realized it contained songs I had composed in a MIDI tracker. Since raw MIDI files depend on the sound card and can’t be directly published, I decided to fully produce them. To stay true to the retro aesthetic, I challenged myself to use the oldest gear in my collection. This is how “Nocturnal”, a song blending dream house music and dream dance vibes, started its incredible journey. “Nocturnal” is the original title of a blend of dream dance and epic trance music that has been quite prominent in the 2000s. I could not believe that I wrote this melody many years before my all-time favourite trance hymn “Adagio of Life”, but it has a very similar style. Seems like I have been longing for epic trance ever since I started to write songs. The single comes in three versions. The original version of “Nocturnal” will be part of the upcoming dream house / dream dance album, but there is also a club mix and a remix from my friend The Primary Phase Principle, who is very much into post-industrial and dark wave. The funny thing about this release is that neither he knows the original version of this song. Nobody but me knows how my album sounds, and I look forward to the Bandcamp Listening Party with you! Let’s take a nostalgic trip to the 90s and 00s. You can find “Nocturnal” on all streaming services and in my Bandcamp subscription. And if you don’t want to miss out my album, pre-save if on your favourite platform. Of course, I will also announce it on Bandcamp as soon as possible!

Celebrate the digital re-release of my debut album “Trancemotion” (2006) with me. After 19 years, we decided to make it available for streaming platforms. Pick your favourite platform – or support me on Bandcamp. Some of you may have noticed that I have been re-releasing older songs on streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer and YouTube Music. We are done with all singles from 2003 to 2006. Now, about 19 years later, it’s time for the re-release of my first trance album, “Trancemotion”. I can still remember my excitement when I printed the first CD batch in 2006. Can you imagine my excitement about putting this album onto streaming services? Of course, this big event won’t happen without notice. I decided to host a listening party tonight on Bandcamp. If you downloaded the songs on Bandcamp before, I kindly ask you to download them once again, so you have them in the same loudness as all my other albums. No worries, you don’t have to pay for these again, as they are already part of your collection. If you find some time, you can join the Bandcamp Listening Party at 8pm CEST. Also, you can listen to the previews on my YouTube channel: My debut album “Trancemotion” brings together 1990s and 2000s trance vibes, driving basslines and emotive vocals. It is perfect for millennials who grew up in the golden age of trance and enjoyed club length songs. As 1990s raves are getting popular again, I bet that some newer generations, who enjoy the rise of melodic techno, will also enjoy this blend of futuristic sounds and dreamy melancholia. “Trancemotion” is a timeless album of oldschool trance and emotion, with nearly 80 minutes of playing time. I hope you enjoy this one, whether you are new to my music – or just started to follow my profiles. Besides Bandcamp, my album “Trancemotion” is now available on streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer and YouTube Music. Here is a full list of the services available. Hopefully, Juno and Beatport will follow. Big thanks to all people who were involved in this project: Vera M. van Bergh, Max W., Ramona Muhn, ElectronicV, Ben Aetheryon and Julian F. This album would have never happened without you.
