I am happy to announce that my album “Going My Way” is now available on all streaming platforms. If you always wanted to stream that album, go ahead and spin it! “Going My Way” is a wild ride through many different genres in between pop, rock and metal. The album has been recorded as online collaborations with 21 musicians. It’s one of my favourite albums, because it truly reflects my skills in songwriting, arrangement and production. “Going My Way” is the beginning of a new chapter, a chapter, where I’m not only tweaking knobs and automations in my DAW, but also play real instruments, write arrangements for full bands, contribute lyrics and co-write with talented folks all over the globe. It has been such a treat to work with so many talented musicians. Big shoutout to David Taro, Nate Gerry, Chad Lenig, I AM MEADOWS, Kelly Best, Roman Wreden, Michael Karns, Jason Challis, Garrett Kirby, Jordan Hirsch, Simon Ashby, Stefan Hartl, Gammafied, Caitlin Sigler, Kate Stanton, Rich Brewer, Ben Kohr, Alex Pinheiro, Stephan Kösters and Robert Cooperider (in no particular order). You will find many of these names in my later works! I highly encourage you to join the Bandcamp listening party tonight 8pm CEST and have a chit-chat with us. If you don’t find the time, you can find the album on all platforms. Here is a preview video on YouTube:

If you enjoy 80s synth pop, you will fall in love with our calm and sad song “No Difference”. Steady electronic rhythms and old school synthesizers meet emotional vocals. Our song is now available on all platforms. As I’m pretty loaded with collaborations and open projects, I decided to write lyrics. So I had a deeper look into SHUENs profile to have an idea about the topics and atmosphere. That’s where I ended up writing something about somebody who is indifferent to everything. He came back with a crazy good synth pop sound, and a very catchy melody. Our song is now available on all platforms.

With “Toward Tomorrow,” we’re releasing a melancholic song about alcohol and drug abuse. You can find it on all music platforms now. “Toward Tomorrow” is a song about a man rediscovering himself after years of alcohol and drug abuse. It is the story of a man abused in childhood by his father who falls in with the wrong crowd in high school and starts to use alcohol and drugs to deal with his emotional pain. He hits bottom through not being able to work and having to live homeless off the land in the California desert. This song is a mournful elegy to a life that was almost taken away, but now starting to find itself and reclaim its worth. The song was written several months ago when Andrew Russell and Michael Gutierrez-May participated in a random collaboration game. This time, Andrew played all the instruments, while Michael wrote the lyrics. It was a new experience for me to be involved solely as a producer and arranger. It went surprisingly well, as I already worked on several projects with Andrew and appreciate Michael’s songwriting. We didn’t want to keep “Toward Tomorrow” to ourselves any longer and have finally uploaded it to all streaming platforms. It’s also available on YouTube, of course!

“Carry Me Home” is about finding God at the brink of despair and embracing that encounter as a life-changing experience. Together with Cintale (vocals) and Garrett Kirby (guitars) we release this song today on all platforms. “Carry Me Home” is one of these songs that just happen and feel right. It is written in a strange and unique scale between harmonic minor and major, that has a little bluesy touch. I never considered myself writing a Gospel, but it happened for a reason – and I am happy for the connections made. Couldn’t think of a better vocalist than Cintale, who is home in R&B, soul and Christian music – and with Garry on the guitars everything is fluffy and funky. Lyrically, “Carry me home” is about finding God shortly before it’s too late (in whatever regard), and embracing this encounter as a positive and life-changing moment, finally finding inner peace and unity. It’s a personal song, as I struggled with philosophy and religion for many years. In the back of my head, I always knew, that there is something or someone spreading the message of hope, that you’re not alone and everything happens for a reason. Though “Carry me home” focusses on Christian images, I believe that no matter which culture you’re born into, or which God(s) you believe, that there is a moment in life, where spirituality finds you. A moment of awakening and realization, that something is bigger than you and everything you can imagine. As usual, you can find “Carry Me Home” on all platforms, including Bandcamp and YouTube.

Who are we when everything we create and share exists only online? This song drifts between connection and emptiness, exploring social media escapism and digital isolation. Some months ago, I wrote a haunting instrumental that needed a topliner. So happy that Jay El Dee was interested in writing something for Halloween. Her unusual take of discussing the emptiness of social media takes the tradition of haunting songs into a new era. In this arrangement, you can hear all kind of strange synthesizers, interwoven with eerie ad-libs and thought-provoking lyrics. If you enjoy this kind of jam, don’t forget to visit Jay El Dee’s discography – she writes a lot about modern life and conflicts. As usual, you can find our new song on YouTube and all streaming platforms. Have a great Halloween!
