I do not often write sarcastic lyrics with a real intention. This time, I’m ranting about empty phrases in everyday life. Diplomatic phrases, that are only needed to be polite or assuage people. Can we live without diplomatic expressions? The idea to “Diplomacy” came in daily life. Everybody heard some phrases like “that’s sweet of you” or “my door is always open”, and most often these are far away from the truth. Wouldn’t it be better to say what you really mean? “Diplomacy” has been written and recorded with John Lampson and JaaRi, a band from Berlin. Everybody is routed in punk rock music, and I felt it’s best to go that way. This time all our tracks were recorded from real instruments and people – even the background vocals and drums. Thanks a lot for participating! As usual you can find the song on YouTube and SoundCloud. We look forward to reading your comments!

“Backfire” is a song about false friends and wishing that their toxic shoots fire back at them. Your wish stays a wish, because your pride and dignity keeps you from causing harm. Read more about the song… Lemonbrew started the collaboration with a catchy and energetic rock progression. I rearranged the song and wrote some lyrics and a vocal melody. His song needed some energetic and punchy lyrics, so I wrote something about false friends, containing lots of ambiguous words and puns. Later, Flinn joined us to rock out the vocals. To support young artists, we asked Salvatore to draw the cover. As usual, you can find the song on SoundCloud and YouTube. Thank you very much for collaborating, it’s been a lot of fun!

Right after finishing Someone Else’s Song, my alternative rock internet band The Verge thought about our comeback. The title of our new song couldn’t have been more programmatic: Back In Town. It’s a self-deprecating punk rock / melodic hardcore song full of power and excitement. Special thanks go to Horace, who had this splendid idea and to ibzstrat, who arranged the drum set. It was fun to arrange, record and produce that song. We assure, that no guitarists were struck by lightnings during our recording sessions. As usual, our song is available as free download at Myownmusic, SoundCloud and Reverbnation. We look forward to comments, likes and shares. The Verge wishes you a Happy New Year. Since firecracking was forbidden, we provide some noise for your stereo!

My internet band The Verge has finished their long player “Something you did not know”. Our album is an energetic blend of alternative rock, blues rock, pop and punk consisting of 12 songs about daily life. Now we’re coming to the best news: The Verge’s alternative rock long player is free of charge! You can listen to all songs on our SoundCloud and Reverbnation profile. If you’re a SoundCloud member, you can also download the songs for free. I’d like to thank Horace and ibzstrat for our long-term collaboration and the foundation of the band. While working with you, I have learned a lot about songwriting, mixing and mastering of handmade music. I hope, that The Verge will carry on for a long time. As band, we would like to thank The Witness, Martin S. and Martin B. for contributing on Open Ended Cue, Haunted and Smash. P.S. Our music is licensed under Creative Commons and is made for private, non-commercial use. Contact us, If you want to use it for broadcasts, videos, websites or commercial purposes. Thanks.
