In February, I wrote a song based on a prompt. It’s been an interesting exersize to write a song within an hour. The draft took 40 minutes, but I needed 3 more hours for mixing and production. Here is the result. The prompt “Going Nowhere” felt right, cause I’ve been struggling with a creative block. For many months I’ve been working on many old projects in parallel, occassionally I tried to extend an old 8-bar loop. Often it feels like my music is going nowhere. This time I set on the piano and played some chords. The recording has been chopped and build the basis of the song. I did the same with the drum loop. If you listen closely you will hear that beginning and end are nearly identical. There is only one different note. It took me a while to upload the song on SoundCloud and YouTube, but here we go. “Going Nowhere” is one of the b-sides that I wanted to show you. Right now I’m working on a big bunch of songs for Summer.

Kate Stanton and I spent the last weeks with a song that is eerie and wonderful at the same time. A song about liminal spaces, where reality collides. A liminal space is a place or a person in between two states followed by a certain ambiguity or disorientation. Think of it as the backdrop of a horror or science fiction movie, but also of a situation where you don’t know if moving backwards or forwards is the better way to go. Kate sent me a piano and vocal draft that immediately caught my intention. I already heard a song in between Nine Inch Nails and Massive Attack. So I grabbed my synthesizers and drum machines and tried some sound design. We ended up with an eerie yet soothing industrial / trip-hop song with emotional vocals. You can listen to our song on my YouTube channel or SoundCloud. It’s definitely worth taking a look into Kate’s video footage showing lost places. Thanks for the collaboration, it’s been fun to try something different.

Earlier than expected, I’m back with fresh music. Kate Stanton and I release our song “Deep Heart”, as its message is important in times of stress and chaos. We hope that this song will soothe you and help to find your inner peace. “Deep Heart” is a song about healing your heart space. This music conveys the need to stay rooted. To feel and heal. Taking a moment to breathe into the present moment and breathe out unforgiveness. Making the space to forgive, to heal, to grow. Kate Stanton co-wrote the song and lend her beautiful voice and lyrics. She couldn’t think of a better instrument to convey that resilience than the Armenian duduk, so Sean Pádraig recorded a real one for us. Diving into downtempo and trip-hop really helped me to come into a meditative state. Thank you for giving me the chance to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. As usual, you can listen to our song on YouTube and SoundCloud. Please take a deep look into my YouTube channel these days. I am uploading plenty of great previous unreleased and brand-new remixes for those who like electronic music of all kind. And I promise that there will be even more fresh music this year!
